Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) recently launched a series of seminars on the construction of stepping stones and garden walkways in local communities, as part of a partnership with the Ministry of Community Development’s “Skills Training 2010 Program”. The sessions, which are held during a segment of the Ministry’s Landscaping Class, began in mid May and came to an end in late June. Approximately thirteen (13) three - hour sessions were offered across Trinidad & Tobago.
The seminars aimed to educate participants on how they should go about making their own stepping stones and garden walkways. TCL’s expertise provided valuable insight on making the moulds, colouring and mixing techniques, placing the concrete, curing methods and maintenance of the stones and walkways.
Community members expressed their gratitude to TCL for providing them with the opportunity to learn about preparing stepping stones and garden walkways, and also for the face to face insight on proper concrete mixing and curing techniques.
Seminars were held at the North Manzanilla Government School, Boos Community in Rio Claro, Rambert Village in La Romain, Fonrose Village in Tableland, Plaisance Park, Tabaquite, Siparia, Warrenville, Cunupia. Princes Town, Moruga, Debe and South Oropouche. Arrangements are also being made to host the ‘Stepping Stones and Garden Walkways’ seminars in Tobago.
