The TCL Group, regional manufacturer and marketer of TCL Premium Plus will continue supplying Brazil with cement for the construction of World Cup related projects, as Brazil prepares to host the world’s premier football event in 2014. This was confirmed yesterday (Aug 8) by TCL’s distributor in Brazil, Fort Industria e Comercio de Cemento e Argamassa Ltda, which through its partner Construtora Etam Ltda has been supplying TCL cement for two major world cup football projects….Arena Amazonas, the stadium at which all the football games programmed for the state of Amazonas will be played and a 3.5km long bridge over the Black River that connects Manaus with the small city of Iranduba in the Northern part of the country.
Mario Chavez – President of Fort Industria e Comercio de Cemento e Argamassa Ltda proclaimed his confidence in the product’s performance and announced that his company will continue to supply the TCL brand for at least ten percent of the total cement required to complete the stadium project, which is expected to last until 2013. Construction of the bridge will run until the end of 2011 with fifteen percent of the cement coming from TCL. He remarked, “When one considers the magnitude of these projects, it is extremely important that there is a reliable supply of high quality cement, which can assure the erection of durable structures and as importantly, within the specified timelines”. He went on to add, “We are very confident of the TCL quality for these civil works and have been receiving exceptional customer service from the company”.

TCL commenced cement exports to Brazil in 2009 and sales have been increasing with prospects for further increases as the requirement is expected to grow even more to meet construction demands arising from the more imminent World Cup, as well as the Olympic Games in 2016.
